NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Washington Township will hold a SPECIAL MEETING to be held on Thursday January 19, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at 1392 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania 15012. The purpose of this meeting is to fill the open position on the Executive Board of the Municipal Authority of Washington Township and for any other business that may come before the board.
This meeting will be open to the public.
Starting March 1, 2023, Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill is the new garbage company in Washington Township.
Please refer to the Garbage Calendar & Route Schedule page for information on garbage pickup.

The Washington Township Board of Supervisors will hold their reorganization meeting on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. with the regular meeting following thereafter. The remaining monthly meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. and shall take place in the Township meeting room, 1392 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon PA.

Our township police can cite zoning violators. You can also fill out a zoning complaint form and email it to joshbukovac@k2engineering.net

COVID-19 Office Restrictions
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Board of Supervisors of Washington Township are taking proactive measures in an attempt to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Washington Township and the health of Township employees.
Effective immediately, access to the Township Office, the Township Tax Collector’s Office, Zoning Office, the Township Maintenance Garage and Township employees will be restricted. The public will have no access to the main vestibule area of the Municipal Building. Township employees and Supervisors will continue to work and may still be reached via telephone and email. Contact information is available on the Township website at www.washingtontownshipbellevernon.org or you can call the Township office at (724) 929-6333 and leave a message with the answering service. Zoning phone number is (724) 434-8431.
During this time, tax payments may only be made by mailing your payment. The Tax Collector’s office will be available to answer resident questions by phone at (724) 929-4965, will continue to process payments, and will provide paid receipts for tax payments via the mail if you provide a self addressed, stamped envelope.
A Disaster Emergency Declaration has been issued by the Washington Township Supervisors due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. This declaration identifies the existence of a public health local disaster emergency in Washington Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania and gives the Township Supervisors, in conjunction with the Township Emergency Management Coordinator, the authority to suspend such regulatory requirements deemed necessary to respond to this disaster emergency and to conduct Township business.
