Veteran’s Memorial Sidewalk Brick Project

This is a fundraiser for the Washington Township Memorial Park, sponsored by the Washington Township Veterans Committee and the Fayette City/Washington Township Lions Club.  The bricks will be installed on the sides of the walkway approaching the Veterans Memorial.

Floodplain Ordinance

The Floodplain Ordinance was passed and will become effective July 18, 2017.

Washington Township is required to pass an updated Floodplain Ordinance.  This Ordinance is available for review  (see below) and a copy will be available in the township lobby.  Comments will be addressed at the April 8, 2017 Supervisors meeting at 6 pm in the Community Center Building at 1392 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon Pa 15012.  FEMA is requiring all communities to pass the Pennsylvania Floodplain Ordinance Update.

New Paper Recycle Receptacle!

We have a new paper recycle container on the Water Authority side of the building.  It is very user friendly and we hope residents will start recycling paper again!  We will have 2 containers.  One for paper and the other for cardboard.  Click on the flyer for more info!  Paper-Recycling

Mine Subsidence Information

DEP will be mailing out notices to residents who live in Washington Township who do not have mine subsidence insurance. New mapping has designated most of our area as being under mined. In the coming weeks, an application and information will be mailed to approximately 1100 households. If you have any questions regarding mine subsidence, please go to the DEP website at www.pamsi.org.

PENNDOT Road information

PENNDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.
This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.
The number is 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
