2020 Tentative Budget

Notice is hereby given that the 2020 Proposed Budget is available for inspection at the Municipal Building-1390 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.  This proposed budget will be adopted at the regular Supervisors meeting to be held on December 11, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at 1392 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.

Draft Zoning Ordinance

Please see the draft Zoning Ordinance below.  A  Public Meeting was held on September 4th and the 45 day public comment period will end on November 11.  Please direct any comments or concerns to Jenni Easton at jeaston@mackinengineering.com or by calling Jenni at 412-788-0472.

A public hearing will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 6 PM and the supervisors will plan to enact the new zoning ordinance at the regular December supervisor’s meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 6 PM.  Both meetings will be held at 1392 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon PA  15012.

2019 Halloween

2019 Trick or Treat will be Saturday October 26 from 2 – 4 pm.  Please drive safely and watch for children.

Lien Letters

Washington Township requires a lien letter for property lien information.  The fee is $25, payable to Washington Township Supervisors, 1390 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA  15012.

Effective March 13, 2019 Washington Township requires a dye test for any property sale, transfer or  refinance. Details are included in the lien letter.

If you have a zoning complaint about property maintenance or have questions regarding pools, please see some of the ordinances below.  If you have an issue not addressed here, please contact the office or zoning officer for the proper ordinance.  If there is a violation according to the ordinance, please complete a zoning complaint form and email it to the zoning officer Bill Bergman at wtzoning@comcast.net or drop off or mail the form to the office.  The office is open Monday – Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm and is closed on Friday.

Public Meeting Zoning Ordinance Update

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Washington Township Planning Commission will hold a public meeting for the purpose of presenting and receiving comments on a draft Zoning Ordinance. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 4th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Township VFC Hall (Small Hall), 1314 Axton St., Belle Vernon, PA 15012.

Washington Township has a new burning ordinance effective July 10, 2019. Burning is no longer permitted in residential areas except in certain specific instances.

Garbage pickup is Monday or Wednesday, depending on your area.

Flood Emergency of September 9/10

NOTICE:  Pick up for flood damaged items by the road crew has ended effective Friday, September 28, 2018.

At the Supervisors meeting on September 12, 2018 Resolution R-05-18 was passed issuing a Declaration of Disaster Emergency due to the severe flooding that occurred.  Copies are available in the Township lobby and the link below.  The supervisors have also directed the road crew to pick up flood damaged items and take them to the dump for affected Washington Township residents.  Anyone needing the road crew to pick up flood damaged items should call 724-929-6333 and leave a message for the road crew with their address and the message to pick up damaged items.

Veteran’s Memorial Sidewalk Brick Project

This is a fundraiser for the Washington Township Memorial Park, sponsored by the Washington Township Veterans Committee and the Fayette City/Washington Township Lions Club.  The bricks will be installed on the sides of the walkway approaching the Veterans Memorial.
